Social Events

There's something on every week, always on a Wednesday evening and often at the weekend too! GAGS has a well run and unbroken social programme that offers members a wide choice of things to do throughout the year:

• coffee evenings in member's homes
• visits to local gay bars like The Richmond Arms (Richmond!) and The Lord Campbell (Aldershot)
• evening meals/drinks at other local pubs
• tenpin bowling at the Guildford Spectrum
• countryside walks followed by food and drink at member's homes
• day trips (in the last year to places including Uppark House, Ham House in Richmond upon Thames, a day travelling the Watercress Line from Alton, a visit to Leonardslee Gardens near Horsham and a gay day trip to Brighton!)

There are also four big annual events:

• The Summer Garden Party - with barbeque, stalls and entertainments
• The Annual Dinner - with three course meal and cabaret (you have been warned!)
• The Chairman's Christmas Party
• The New Year's Party - theme nights!

The show is kept on the road each year by the GAGS Committee, elected each year at the AGM and GAGS events are advertised to members via a bi-monthly newsletter, the GAGSMag. New ideas are welcomed and members often arrange ad hoc events like theatre or concert trips or visits to nightclubs.
